11 months old

Preston turned 11 months yesterday. I feel like he has been in our lives forever but I also can't believe that he is already almost 1. luckily for us he has stayed a baby a lot longer than Brooke did. He is still a happy baby. He loves life and just wants to have fun. He still scoots around everywhere and while he knows how to crawl will not do it. He still hates to bear weight on his legs and will only do it if forced. He is only just now starting to try to pull himself up on things. He will only pull himself up to his knees though and will not pull up more to be on his feet (pretty nice for me because I have yet to baby proof the house.) He loves his sister and they are starting to play together which is really fun to see. He has gained a ton of weight and is 20 lbs now. He barely fits into his infant seat so we just got him a new car seat. He loves it. I know I am supposed to wait until he is 1 to turn him around but I think he is big enough to do so safely. He love his new seat and loves that he gets to sit next to Brooke now. Brooke also got a new booster car seat and they look so cute sitting next to each other. Preston can say Dada and as of yesterday just started saying Mama. I love hearing it:). I think he also says baby, but can't tell if it is just him babbling. He loves to be involved in whatever we are doing and is starting to make his presence know with his grunts and screams. I love him to pieces and I am so glad he is our baby.

Weekend Getaway

Jason had a meeting at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel for work on Friday and he got everything set up so we could stay the night together. It was amazing! It was so nice to go and be by ourselves and remember who I am when I get to be just a wife. I love being a mom but being a wife is by far my favorite title. Jason and I got to do so many awesome things and we got to enjoy so much of the beauty that God has created for us. It was a perfect 24 hour getaway and it was also so nice to come home to our sweeties. Thanks to the Felton's for watching them so well.

We got to wake up and go work out to this view. It was so amazing. I would be motivated to work out everyday if I was always promise a sunrise and the ocean.

The inside is so clean and beautiful. I loved the fresh roses and orchids that were everywhere.
Our room.
These are the only two pictures I got of us. We were having way too much fun to remember to take them:)

We got to eat Hors d'oeuvres outside over looking the Ocean. They had amazing cheeses to try and the best apple chips I have ever had. It was all yummy though.

We also got to sit outside around a fire pit and snuggle up with a blanket, chat and watch the sunset. My other favorites were being the only people at the Jacuzzi late at night and feeling like we owned the place, eating at cheesecake factory at 9 PM, not having to worry about when to put babies to sleep or really have an agenda at all. Eating some of the yummiest pastries in the morning around a fireplace in a beautiful room. But the best part of it all was getting to hang out with the greatest guy and getting to fall in love with him all over again. Thanks for such a wonderful time sweetie!

Happy St. Patricks Day

We always seem to combind Dr. Suess's Birthday with St. Patricks Day. We read Green eggs and Ham and then ate them (or didn't eat them) both kids were not to into the "green food" and honestly the eggs just seemed odd after adding the food coloring they even bubbled up a little. Gross. We also learned about St. Patrick and then watched the Veggietales about him.

Brooke's 3rd Birthday Party

The people...We decided not to have friends at the party this year. I think 5 will be the age we have her little friends over. We had lots of family over and had a great time.
The presents...Spoiled was an understatement this year!
Eating some gum for the first time. She loved it and ate about 30 more pieces that day. She was so good though. She didn't swallow any and she put all of them in the trash when she was done. Oh the benefits of waiting!
The games. We played a gumball relay race with spoons. We played a gumball throwing game. We also had the boys do a bubble gum blowing contest but first they had to find the gum in some whipped cream using only there mouth. So funny.
Singing to Brooke and Kayla. Brooke's Niece's B-Day is 3 days before hers so we always sing toKayla too. She tuned the big 17 and she also just won for ASB Class President her senior year. Whoop Whoop! Brooke loved her cupcake. She is never shy around frosting.
It was one great day!!

Some B-Day Decorating Details

Brooke was very specific about what she wanted for her party. She wanted a Bubble gum party. I don't let my kids eat gum until they are 3. So she wanted a party all about Bubble Gum. I wasn't even going to do a party this year, but once she had planned it out in her head I couldn't disappoint her right? I found some cute stuff on etsy and it was $45 just for the digital copy so I just made my own version of it and printed it out for a total of FREE!! Got to love that!

For Brooke's cupcakes I tried this frosting recipe from Pioneer Women which is titled The best frosting I ever had. It was pretty good but a little to butterish for my liking. Still worth trying though.
We gave favors of gumballs and bubble gum of course!

One of the many gumball inspired games we played that day. Auntie Lana guessed how many there were exactly!! Amazing.
We ate pizza, salad, grapes, strawberries, pink lemonade and cupcakes. It was all pretty yummy.

Presents!!

After we got home from Rainforest Cafe we let Brooke open the presents we got her (even though her birthday was the next day). She is so fun to watch open presents now.

Can you tell she is really into dressing up now?

Rainforest cafe

Brooke loves to look at the animals at Rainforest Cafe every time we go to Ontario Mills. After receiving a flyer with some coupons in the mail she saw it and really wanted to go there for Her Birthday. We went there the day before her B-day and we all had a great time.
This is her showing you that she is 3.
We got to eat right by the waterfall so it was pretty cool.

Brooke loved being sung to, and blew the candle out as soon as they brought her the dessert.
She lovingly licked the ice cream off the cherry and gave it to...
Daddy. He loves Cherries. She also told him to not eat the seed, as she handed it over. She is such a little Mommy.
Mr. Handsom was having a great time looking at everything.

Goodbye two....
