Valentine's Day
Let me just say that I have the 3 best Valentine's in the world!! We had a nice Valentine's day this year. We actually celebrated 2 days. On Saturday we had our Valentine's family breakfast and the kids got to open their candy. We had a special valentine's dinner and dance fundraiser for the Young Women in our ward and so we went to that too. It was a lot of fun.
On Monday the kids made lots of heart valentine's for FHE. Tuesday they woke up to hearts leading from their room to the table with heart shaped Krispy Kreme donuts. Afterwards I took the kids to Pump it up and then out to Chick Fil A. It was a nice day! Jason brought home roses and In-n-Out. So yummy. I then conned him into watching the latest Twilight movie with me. Yes he really does love me! It was a very nice holiday to remember how lucky we are to experience love in our lives.
For Jason't gift I got him a whole year of prepaid, pre thought out dates. One per month. See the look he is giving me in the second pic. That is my favorite you shouldn't have done all of this for me but I love you so much look. It is worth all the effort everytime! ( I will try to post the dates as we do them.)
Brooke made her valentines this year with the help of my Silhouette machine. I had a ton of leftover popcorn from a baby shower and I was happy I could talk her into giving it for her Valentine's. She had a fun party at school that day. When I picked her up she said "Mom we didn't do any work today just all play." It pretty much cracked me up! Love this sweet fun girl!!Visit from Great Grandpa Leatherman
My Grandpa came to visit this past week. It had been a whole year since I saw him last so it was so nice to get to be with him. He is such a fun guy to be with. He will get down and play with the kids and is just so young still!
Brady Joe and my Dad came too. I love the way Brady plays with Brooke. Older kids really are the best babysitters!!
My favorite part of his visit was introducing him to the Wii. He golfed pretty well and he bowled a 150! I was pretty amazed. He actually beat my Dad's score in bowling:).Lots of old things I never posted
Some memories we have made in the past few months. I thought I would throw them all together to make it easy.
Brooke fell asleep on the couch (this has never happened before unless she is sick so I had to document it), building with new blocks, watching Little Einsteins (a daily occurrence), going to Victoria Gardens and playing in the water and eating at Lucille's, our giant Gingerbread men.
Alec and Kayla came and stayed with us the day before Thanksgiving. Alec and Jason woke up Thanksgiving morning to play in the turkey bowl. Alec fractured his ankle and both of them ended up having to stay with us for Thanksgiving instead of going to Knott's Berry Farm with the rest of the family. I know they were disappointed but i was so happy I got to keep them a while longer. I love these awesome kids!!Brooke, Kayla and I got to see The Wizard of Oz play. It was Brooke's first play and she loved it. She wasn't bored even though it was 2.5 hours long. She said it was just so much more real then the movie. :) I loved watching her as she experienced it for the first time. It was fun getting to have Kayla be with us. She is not only an awesome niece but a great friend as well.
I got to take Alec out on a date for sushi. He is the only one who likes it with me. We ordered like 6 dishes and pigged out. It was delicious and it was fun going on a date with a younger man:) No really he is such a good boy!!
The kids have been put to work in our house! The funny thing is that they actually do a great job. Brooke dusts my baseboards for me every week and she does it perfectly. I hope her enthusiasm for cleaning can last at least for a few more years.
A Christmas Post!
I have been seriously slacking on blogging. I have had all these collages ready for quite some time but just haven't wanted to take the time to post. So here is our Christmas! We had the Senior Sister Missionaries over for dinner on Christmas Eve. We were so fortunate to have there sweet spirits in our home adding to the special Christmas spirit we were feeling.
On Christmas morning we opened Santa gifts and then headed to church. After church we came home and opened the presents. It was such a nice and relaxing Christmas. My Dad and Brother also came and hung out with us and we just talked, played and had a great time.
We also did lots of family Christmas activities leading up to Christmas. We went to The Living Nativity where they act out the night Baby Jesus was born. We went to our ward Christmas party, made gingerbread men, watched Brooke's Preschool Christmas program (I am going to have to post the video later) we went to Disneyland and enjoyed the Christmas Parade, and lots of other small Christmas fun at home.
