As I am writing this post I am sitting in the tiniest hotel room ever, which is my home for right now. Jason has temporarily stepped in as an Operations Manager (not an Administrator because he hasn't taken his state or federal tests yet.) for a Skilled Nursing Facility in Oxnard, CA. So on Monday we moved into an extended stay hotel. I thought it would be better than it really is. However this place is so much smaller than it looked in the photos! The air conditioner/heater makes a weird noise that keeps me up all night, the walls are an obnoxious orange color, the bed and pillows smell like the worst BO from a man that has sweat all over it, the floor is so nasty that it leaves Brooke's knees and feet black after crawling for only a few minutes, there is no oven, the kitchen sink is smaller than the bathroom sink and has no disposal, and it is dirty. Now if you know anything about me it is 1) I am a germ a phobe, and 2) I have to live in a clean and organized home. So after the first night, I went out and bought a bunch of cleaning supplies, glade products and a smell killer called Odor Cide. I did my best with what I had, and I made it a little better after a deep down cleaning and a serious attack on that nasty smell, but it is still so hard to be here. Thank goodness to my rescue Jason said we could take over a guys lease for the next few months, and it would be cheaper and it would be an apartment. I went and looked at it, and it wasn't quite as awesome as I would expect (really dirty!) But after a good cleaning and a visit from Stanley Steamer it should be a lot better than this place. Well that is my rant for now. I guess I should be happy, but I just miss my home so much! I really am a homebody and love to be in a place where I can control the dirty/clean/germ factor. I am so happy to be with Jason though, it is a lot better than just seeing him on the weekends. I could never do that, I just love him too much, and that's why I got married right?
Well there is the update. Here are a few photos from the website of the hotel we are staying at, even though it looks nothing like this. I will have to post some pics that I take of it when I get back home.
