I was able to go on a sister vacation with 4 of my other sisters to San Francisco this past week. We had a lot of fun and got to bond a lot! However I had a few unfortunate things happen to me so this post is dedicated to them. The photos and fun stories will come later once my sisters have emailed me some photos:)
First I am terribly afraid of bridges. I acquired a fear for them about 3 years ago and I am terrified of being on them because I don't think they are built very well. They are my biggest fear! Anyways on my drive to San Fran I knew I would have to drive over the bay bridge by myself, however I didn't know I would be in traffic! It took me a whole hour to get over the dumb thing and the whole time I was hyperventilating and I kept talking to Jason on the phone. Not fun at all!!! (Note that I will be posting more bridge stories from San Fran)
Second once I arrived in San Francisco. My sisters asked me if I would pick them up at a certain subway station that they had gotten on from the airport. I said sure, and got in the car and ended up asking maybe 10 locals where the place was and each person told me something different or didn't even know where the pick up spot was. After an hour of driving the same streets and keeping several cars from going on green lights, I finally found them. However I was at a green light and had to stop so that they could run to me and put there luggage in my car. There are no parking spots where I was at and I couldn't pull over. The poor guy behind me was so mad, and once I finally had all the luggage in the car I got back in the driver seat and heard my sister in the back say "go, go, go" so I put the pedal to the metal. Then all of a sudden I hear all my sisters scream "Stop!" I slammed on my breaks to look back and see that my oldest sister Christa was not in the car yet and her face had just slammed on the door from me hitting my breaks. She finally got in the car after I almost ran her over, and all of a sudden we were all crying. I felt so bad, and my sister told me she wasn't saying "go" to me but to my sister in the back seat that she wanted to scoot over. So already I had almost ran over my sister. Thankfully she was fine and we were all able to make it back to the hotel safely.
Next we checked in but our room wasn't ready so we decided to check our luggage with the hotel and go walk around and buy Alcatraz tickets for the next day. We did that and when we came back to the hotel they delivered our luggage to our room. After about an hour of hanging out and talking I realized that one of my suitcases was never brought up. I immediately went and told the hotel and thought they just forgot to bring it up. But of course that is not what happened. They searched the hotel and couldn't find it. The whole trip I kept asking if they found it, and they never did. When I added up all the stuff that was in it it was a little over $2000 worth of my favorite shoes, jewelry (including the $400 diamond stud earring Jason bought for me when I was 17 years old) every once of makeup I own, brushes, all my face products, my razor, the only cute modest 1 piece swimsuit I have ever found that fits me right and doesn't make me look like a 12 year old, and my curling iron, curlers, and very expensive straightener, not to mention a ton of other stuff. I was so bummed out and I know that it was probably stolen because the guy that checked it didn't store it in the proper closet and also didn't tag it properly (all which I found out too late). They also just told me that the case would go to there insurance and so I have to wait and see if they will even reimburse me for anything. I doubt it though.
So that was the beginning of my trip. Luckily I didn't let it get in the way of having fun but it was a huge bummer and a huge inconvenience, not only on the trip but also once I came home. But I did have a great time, and I will post lots more to come!!!

NATALIE!!! Ok one, I cannot believe you drove all the way to San Francisco all the way by yourself. And two, that you left Brooke for five days. I really am proud of you for doing it. You have truly inspired me to take a kid-less vacation. I am soooooo sorry about your luggage. That is one of my worst fears. That hotel really needs to take responsibility for it. You should write a letter to the president or something. I'm glad you were still able to have fun. Can't wait for the pics!
I am with you on the subject of bridges. I better have a Xanax nearby if you want me on the other side! Yikes! Sorry about the luggage. I read an article about mailing complaints and how to write them to get what you want. I will try to find it and email it to you.
Holy, moly. That's a lot of bad luck for one trip. :(
Oh Natalie I am so sorry! That is just terrible. I would for sure been really bummed.
