Brooke has become a terrible eater over the past couple of months. She won't try any new foods and even one's that she use to like such as beans she wants nothing to do with now. She has been constipated lately because all she eats is milk. So in a desperate attempt to get her to eat something with protein and fiber I came up with this disgusting combination....
We tried to give Brooke beans. Something she use to LOVE.
However they ended up like this.
She wouldn't touch them to her mouth and if we try to feed her then she really won't eat whatever we are trying to give her.
So I took one of her favorites, fruit rollups, and did this...
And made this...mmmmm.
She looked skeptical.
Checked it over twice.
And she ate it!! EwWW! I felt really bad that I was giving her such a gross combo but I figure she will appreciate it later when she poops. :). Why will she eat such a gross thing but she won't even eat something delicious like watermelon??

that is gross! I wish I could give you advice about the eating, but Ryan eats everything! Good luck! HAve you ever posted on mamma scource? People usually give pretty good answers to questions.
Nat, I have been there and feel for you. Parker as you know is a picky eater too. My best advise that I can think of is to just keep with it. Keep giving her lots of healthy things. Always make sure you give options. Something that I would do is put an instant carnation breakfast in Parker's milk in the morning. It has tons of protein and vitamins. This is probably just a phase. Parker would eat well then he wouldn't want anything. It really is so frustrating and stressful. Also I bought the cookbook "Deceptively Delicious" by Jessica Seinfeld. It has tons of awesome recipes of how you can puree fruits and vegetables and put them in things kids will eat. I have tried a few things that Parker likes. About the constipation problem my pediatrician told me to put a tablespoon of Miralax in Parker's milk at night. All it does is put water in the stools to help it soften. It is very gentle and non-habit forming. That will help at least until she starts eating better. Hang in there!! Parker is a pretty good eater these days and I know Brooke will be too. Sorry this is so long! Call me if you want to talk more about it! Love ya
This post is reminding me of an Erma Bombeck essay. I'll have to dig it up and send it to you.
Frannie was a picky eater too. It is frustrating. She didn't get constipated very often but if she did, I would always give her baby food prunes to make her go. Even if I had to force-feed her.
Frannie wasn't a big fan of pinto beans but liked black beans. Maybe try those? She would eat plain macaroni pasta. Cheese always. Regular oatmeal w/ just some brown sugar and milk. Cheerios. Pretzels. Anything salty and crunchy it seems.
And hey, you can always go with your fruit roll up idea if it keeps working!
Oh, man... I would just keep creating sneaky combo's like the bean ups! Hey, she got a bean! That's a little fiber/protein.
Oh yeah. I also remember she would totally eat Farmer John link sausage and bacon. She liked the salty fatty meat food group.
